A Letter from our Panhellenic President-
On behalf of the 2020 Panhellenic Council, we are so excited to welcome you into our UArizona Greek community! The Panhellenic community works hard to encourage women who are driven, creative, and kind-hearted to go through Recruitment and find their life-long friends. Our 13 chapters consist of diverse women who are involved in many philanthropic opportunities and strive to further their academic and professional careers. These chapters have built strong, authentic relationships within the Tucson community, as well as with the University staff and administration. Each of our Panhellenic women have a desire to better the Greek community by becoming involved in clubs and organizations on campus. Each of our sororities is unique, but uphold similar values and ideals, while providing a secure environment with transferable tools for your undergraduate collegiate experience and beyond.
As a new student at the University of Arizona, I was intimidated by the large campus size and the lack of friends I had from high school attending school here. One of my parents was in Greek life, while the other was not, so there were many discussions if going through recruitment was something I should do. There were preconceived notions that sorority women “paid for our friends, party, and are here for the wrong reasons”, which concerned my parents. During Summer orientation, I went to the Greek life info session and fell in love with what they ACTUALLY stood for, not the rumors people spread. I decided to go through recruitment, and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Just after the first day, I felt myself break out of my shell, and I knew this was the right place for me. Since then, I have been given so many leadership and academic opportunities, and have met the most amazing women. The support I receive regarding my mental state, academics, personal development, and emotional well-being from my community and chapter is real, and never-ending. Our Panhellenic community has made me the woman I am today, and I am so very grateful. For these reasons and many, many more... I invite you to join our family and GO GREEK!!
