2017-2018 Judicial Issues:

On-Campus Events with Alcohol Policy
Section 1
A. An “event” is anything a reasonable observer would associate with the chapter and will be pursuant to the host chapter(s) national policies.

B. Events involving alcohol must be registered with the Fraternity and
Sorority Programs Office. Section 3 F. Common sources of alcohol are not allowed. This includes but is
not limited to: kegs, wine in a box, containers of alcohol mixtures, andanything over individual allotment as described in Section 3 E.

Student Code of Conduct
15. Violation of the Board or university rules or applicable laws governing
alcohol, including consumption, distribution, unauthorized sale, or possession of
alcoholic beverages.

Outstanding Sanctions: 

Pi Kappa Alpha must pay $25 per member on their roster for violating the Student Code of Conduct. This does not include your fall 2017 new member class.

Pi Kappa Alpha must write a formal guest policy that will be implemented by the chapter and shared to all members.

Pi Kappa Alpha must refresh and restate their security plan and housing rules and policies for any gathering involving alcohol.

Pi Kappa Alpha’s President, Housing Manager and Sergeant-at-Arms will formally present the new guest policy, security plan, and housing rules and policies to their chapter.

The organization is being placed on probation. Probation means that any violation of the prohibited conduct items in the Student Code of Conduct, including failure to comply with these sanctions, will lead to further disciplinary action which could include loss of recognition.

Events with Alcohol Policy
Section 1

B. Events involving alcohol must be registered with the Fraternity and Sorority Programs Office

Sanctions:

1. Theta Xi must pay $25 per member on their roster or violation the StudentCode of Conduct.

2. Theta Xi must put together an imposed presentation on how they will thoroughly plan their next registered event. This presentation will be presented to the Greek Standards Board

3. Theta Xi must revisit the Risk Management position’s policies and procedures to ensure all necessary duties and new implementations are clearly stated. The Greek Standards board would like for room checks to be implemented before all events. This procedure is to be added to the Risk Management policies and procedures.

4. Theta Xi will remain on Suspension of Events with Alcohol until the completion of sanction number two.
